What Actually Happens at a Bridal Makeup Trial

I think of a trial as a design session rather than a rehearsal. It is the one unhurried afternoon where we figure out your wedding face together, so that on the actual morning there is nothing left to decide and you can simply enjoy being made up.

What to bring

Photos of your dress. Your saved inspiration pictures, including the ones you think might be too much. Photos of yourself from days you felt beautiful. I would much rather scroll through twenty pictures than hear you apologize for having too many. References tell me things that are hard to put into words.

We build the look, then you live in it

At the trial I do the complete look, base, eyes, lips, lashes, and I explain my choices as I go. Then comes the part I insist on. You leave wearing it. Go to dinner. Take photos in daylight and at night. See how it feels after a few hours. A look has to survive an ordinary evening before it earns your wedding day.

Then we adjust

Afterwards we talk about what you loved and what you would change. A warmer lip, a softer eye, a fuller lash. I write down every product, every shade, and the timing, so the wedding morning runs like a recipe we have already tested. That certainty is what a trial really gives you.
